The closed Fenn Seed charging pod, an oval of speckled flax fibre with a copper latch

Fenn Seed, wireless earbuds. $149.

Earbuds you can take apart. Seven parts, no glue.

The pod is pressed from flax fibre and snaps shut, so the battery, the board and the buds all come out and go back in. When something wears out, you replace that part, not the pair.

  • 7 h, plus 21 h in the pod
  • USB-C and Qi charging
  • 3-year warranty

The Fenn Seed pod half open, with the cradle, charge board and battery lifting out of the base
The pod opens with a thumbnail. No tools.

Repair it at the kitchen table, then send the old part back.

  1. Press the seam

Push the base in at the latch and it pops off. The cradle lifts out behind it.

  2. Swap the part

The battery and the board clip in and out with your fingers. Printed arrows on each one show which way round.

  3. Post the old one

Every spare comes with a return envelope. Batteries are recycled; flax shells are ground down and pressed again.
